MÖTLEY CRÜE/SIXX: A.M. bassist Nikki Sixx will make an appearance in the premiere episode of the new season of "L.A. Ink", which features his on-again girlfriend and 28-year-old tattoo artist Kat Von D (born Katherine Von Drachenberg).

The new season of "L.A. Ink" begins airing on August 11 at 10/9c on TLC.

Sixx is currently working on a new book and accompanying SIXX: A.M. album for a tentative late 2010/early 2011 release.

Sixx, along with host of the evening, Kat Von D, will celebrate the launch of Nikki's nationally syndicated radio program "The Side Show with Nikki Sixx" tonight (Thursday, July 22) on Los Angeles' most-talked-about radio station, 98-7fm.

"The Side Show with Nikki Sixx" premiered on 98-7fm on July 10 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The nationally syndicated weekend program from Premiere Radio Networks spotlights the internationally renowned bassist in his role as radio host and tastemaker. In addition to featuring chart-topping music each week, Sixx spotlights new and emerging artists, talks with guests from all areas of entertainment, and shares his personal new music picks.

Sixx stated, "Los Angeles has been my home since the days even before MÖTLEY CRÜE, so I am beyond excited that 'The Side Show' has found a home at 98-7fm. This is the station I listen to — my friends listen to it, my family listens to it. It's the station I wanted to be on and I'm psyched to get started."

Jennifer Leimgruber, SVP of programming for Premiere Radio Networks, stated, "The debut of 'The Side Show with Nikki Sixx' on 98-7fm is a major milestone. When you've got a great host and a great show, you want to share it with the people you know will love it. 98-7fm is one of the most-listened-to Alternative Rock radio stations in the country, so we are excited to connect with this expansive lifestyle audience every week.”

98-7fm Program Director Julie Pilat says, "'The Side Show with Nikki Sixx' is a great fit for us. Nikki is super creative and passionate about music and his show, PLUS he's homegrown here in L.A. The audience will really relate to him. At 98-7 we are all about trying new things and offering innovative programming, so we are excited to be able to bring this show to our listeners on Saturday mornings."

Since launching last February, "Sixx Sense with Nikki Sixx" and "The Side Show with Nikki Sixx" are fast becoming the place to hear it first for guests from all walks of life, including rock royalty, the first man on the moon, authors, actors and everyone in between. Dave Grohl, Jared Leto, Lemmy Kilmister, Perez Hilton, Kat Von D, "CSI" creator Anthony Zuiker, "Four Agreements" author Don Miguel Ruiz, Dog The Bounty Hunter and others have joined Sixx and his co-host Kerri Kasem for their special brand of conversation.
